Monsignor Paul Dougherty

Monsignor Dougherty is a native of Havertown, Pennsylvania. Before his ordination in 1980, he had been a student of Annunciation BVM grade school, Msgr. Bonner High School, and Saint Charles Seminary. To further his education, Monsignor went on to receive an M.A. in Classical Studies from Villanova University and an M.A. in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.  Throughout his time in the priesthood, Monsignor Dougherty has served in several parishes, taught high school, and worked as a staff member at St. Charles Seminary.  His first assignment as a pastor began in 2006 at St. Albert the Great Parish in Huntingdon Valley.  In 2014, Monsignor Dougherty began his current position as pastor of St. Margaret of Antioch Church. He considers his role, to serve the people of this Parish, “an honor and joy”.

Mrs. Mary Anne Monroe, Director of Religious Education

Mary Anne is originally from the Philippines but came to the US in 1980 to attend Villanova University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy in 1983.  Mary Anne and her husband, Bob, have been Lower Merion residents for the past 37 years, and together they have three children.  Mary Anne has spent most of her adult life working with children by providing in-home childcare, volunteering as a catechist for over 25 years, and working as a uniformed leader and adult trainer for the Boy Scouts of America.  She also earned a Master’s degree in Theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in 2013.  Mary Anne is currently the Director of Religious Education at St. Margaret Church in Narberth and St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne.  Among other things, she is responsible for designing and implementing a program of religious education for parish children in private and public schools. She also coordinates all sacramental preparation programs.  In her spare time, Mary Anne enjoys music, theater, dancing, traveling, and making beaded jewelry.

Sister Mary Ann is a Sister of Mercy and a native of Philadelphia.    Her educational background includes a B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Ed. From Gwynedd Mercy University, an M.A. in Liturgical Studies from The Catholic University of America, followed by a license and doctorate in Liturgy from Sant’Anselmo, the Pontifical Institute of Liturgy in Rome, Italy.  

Most of Sr. Mary Ann’s ministry experience has been in education, having taught students from first grade up to the university level, in the archdiocese of Philadelphia, and dioceses of Camden, NJ, Danville, VA and Raleigh, NC   While in Rome, Italy, Sister taught at various pontifical universities and as a faculty/staff member of the Pontifical Seminary College of St. Bede.  Recently, she has been teaching part-time in the St. Charles School of Theological Studies.

Sister Mary Ann is delighted to be part of the staff at St. Margaret of Antioch Parish.  As Coordinator of Parish Services, she will assist in areas such as Adult Faith Formation, Service opportunities and Youth Ministry.  Sister looks forward to continuing the Church’s mission of evangelization here at St. Margaret’s Parish.

Mr. Michael Worth, Director of Music

Mike Worth began his position as the director of music in 2014, having come from a background in jazz composition, and composing music for Film and Television. Mike’s formal education includes an undergraduate degree in Music Theory from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters in Music Composition from Duke University, and a Master’s in Jazz Composition and Film Scoring from New York University.  In addition to playing piano and directing the music ministries, Mike works during the week composing original music for video games and film. He is blessed with a vibrant team of musicians, all of whom are volunteers from the parish, and contribute to the weekly Masses, the annual Christmas Concert, and the “Liturgy of Shadows”, on Good Friday. Mike’s family is firmly in Saint Margaret’s music ministry as well;  His wife, Sarah, is the Cantor Coordinator and Director of the Youth Choir at Saint Margaret, and his daughter, Katharine, has attended Saint Margaret School (and is a cantor in her own right). His hobbies include cooking, boxing at Washington Boxing Academy in Ardmore,  and playing the occasional jazz duet with Sarah at the Greeks’ in Narberth.

Nicole started at St. Margaret of Antioch Parish in 2019. As a teenage convert to Roman Catholicism, she spent her senior year of high school as a student of her parish’s RCIA program. On Easter Vigil of 2012, she had received the three Sacraments of Initiation at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church in Norwood, PA. She went on to major in theology at Fordham University and, in 2018, received her Master Arts of Theological Studies from Princeton Theological Seminary. From Princeton, she also holds a graduate certificate in Theology, Women, and Gender. Her studies, though centered on early Church history, were heavily impacted by the intersections of theology/new media and faith/mental health. She comes to St. Margaret’s with experience serving The Roman Catholic Campus Ministry of Princeton University, as well as the Sirius XM radio program, Busted Halo. She has faith that the gifts of the Holy Spirit will strengthen the work she performs and the relationships that she forms while at St. Margaret’s Parish.
