OUR UKRAINIAN FAMILY IS THRIVING - AND STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP
Narberth's Ukrainian family has been here for only four months, but they are off to a great start!
Vadym, Anastasija and their two year old son, Elisha, arrived a few days before Christmas. They have settled into their apartment on Narberth Avenue, and have quickly become part of our community. We see them everywhere - at the playground, the library, and at church. Elisha has even had his first playdate. They are working hard to improve their English, and are so happy to be in America.
Vadym already has a full time job. He works at construction with Andrew Bruckner Inc., a well respected Main Line contractor, and walks several miles to work each day. Anastasija is looking for a childcare position in Narberth. Elisha will be attending preschool in the fall. We know this adorable little boy (who loves Spiderman) will make a lot of friends!
St. Margaret's Welcome Circle worked for almost a year to bring our family here through the federal Humanitarian Parole program. They have been overwhelmed by the generosity of supporters everywhere - not just tin he Philadelphia area, but from New York to Florida, and even Texas.
Our family is living frugally, making use of our Food Bank and local clothing exchanges. But they still need our support.
A top priority: Vadym would like to buy a used car to give the family more independence. He is taking his drivers' exam at the end of April. He and his family walk miles many days each week to work, buy food, and get to appointments. Please consider supporting this wonderful, hard-working family. We have received gifts from $25 to $10,000. They appreciate every gift they have received.
