Chris DeMaio's Diaconate Ordination

Ordination to Diaconate of Christopher DeMaio – After seven years of formation, along with four other men, Chris will be ordained a permanent deacon on Saturday, June 8 at the Cathedral-Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul in Philadelphia.  On Sunday, June 9, Christ will offer his first homily at the 11:30 am Mass. Congratulations to Chris and all his family: his wife, Lauren and their five children: Alexandra, Christopher, Olivia, Ariana and Joseph, and also to Chris’ parents Nick and Meg DeMaio, who are also members of our Parish.  Chris and his family have made many sacrifices to arrive at this moment and we offer them our prayerful gratitude and support. The journey to the diaconate, while involving many sacrifices, has been a great blessing to them. May God bless Chris as he begins his ministry as a deacon.  A small community of deaf people for whom I normally celebrate Mass at Cardinal O’Hara High School on the second Sunday of each month will be joining us for the celebration.
