Saint Margaret Parish
turns 125 in 2025!Plans are underway for the celebration of the 125th Anniversary of our Parish in 2025. Our parish was founded on Christmas Day 1900, so we are planning to have opening and closing Masses for the Anniversary Year in or near the Christmas Season. The opening Mass will be on Sunday, January 5, 2025 and the closing Mass on Sunday, December 14, 2025. A Mass and social are planned for Sunday, October 19, 2025, with a Mass at 2:00 pm, followed by a Dinner at the Hilton Hotel on City Avenue.
2025 is also a Jubilee Year in Rome, so we have arranged for a Parish Pilgrimage to Italy from March 24 to April 3, 2025. We will be visiting Florence, Rome, Assisi and Giovanni Rotundo, where Padre Pio served as a priest. Come and join us. The cost will be around $4,699. Our flights will depart from and return to Philadelphia. We are hoping to get 36 people to join us. That number would also help bring the price down some. More information on the pilgrimage will be disseminated in the near future.
A Committee has been established for the anniversary and we are working on seven areas: the special Masses, the pilgrimage, the Social, communicating the history of the Parish, monthly service projects, adult faith formation, and the involvement of youth.
